Zita’s generosity and commitment to Guide Dogs knows no bounds
For Zita, supporting Guide Dogs has been part of life for as long as she can remember. As a child, she watched her family donate every year, planting the seed for what would become a lifelong connection.

While Zita was studying for her master’s degree at university, she came across a Guide Dogs advertisement and after attending an information night, she started the journey of becoming a Puppy Raiser.

From there, her involvement only deepened. She purchased merchandise as meaningful Christmas gifts, supported through our Puppy Pals program, volunteered in the Nursery and Breeding Centre at Bald Hills, and even helped pilot a new puppy enrichment and socialisation program, often carrying tiny pups through the office to brighten everyone’s day.

Zita has been a loyal lottery supporter for many years, and amazingly, she even won a brand-new BMW. Yet she says the thrill of supporting the cause, and the anticipation of each draw is just as exciting as winning itself.

Today, she continues to be an incredible Volunteer, opening her home to puppies aged just four to six weeks, giving them crucial early exposure to a warm, nurturing home environment before they progress to their first Puppy Raisers. Her commitment extends even further: she has chosen to leave a gift to Guide Dogs in her Will, ensuring her impact continues long into the future.

To Zita, Guide Dogs is part of the family. Her relationship with the organisation has evolved and grown over time, and her generosity knows no bounds. Through every stage of her life, she has found new ways to give back, and Guide Dogs has been richer for it.
