A look behind the harness

I’m Gus*, Harry’s* Guide Dog, and every day we step out into the world together.

From the moment my harness goes on, I know I have an important job to do. 

I help Harry navigate the world around him. My job is to keep him safe, focused, and confident, so he can spend less time worrying about getting from one place to another and more time enjoying the people and moments that matter most.

Every day brings something different. Whether we’re heading out, travelling somewhere new or simply going about our day, I’m always watching, guiding and helping Harry move through the world with confidence.

But when the harness comes off, I’m still by his side.

At home, I’m part of the family. I’m there for the quiet moments after a busy day, the laughter around the house, and the simple routines that make a family feel like home. 

Harry and I trust each other completely. We understand each other's rhythms and routines and with every journey we take, that bond grows stronger. 

People might see me helping Harry navigate the world, but what they may not see is what that really gives him. It means he can focus more on enjoying the people, moments and experiences that make life so full.

Being part of Harry’s life isn’t just about where we go. It’s about being there every step of the way. That’s why I know I’m more than a Guide Dog. I’m a teammate, I’m a companion and importantly, I’m family.
